The MIRAGE ULTRA 3D
AGP video card, built on a hybrid 0.18/0.22 micron manufacturing process, is a 12-million
transistor 3D accelerator from S3 with circuitry for hardware transformation and lighting.
MIRAGE ULTRA 3D is the graphics board that is based on the SAVAGE 2000,
which is default clocked at 125 MHz.

For some time now, S3 has been evangelizing texture compression as
the future of PC graphics, and for good reason. Using compression, high-resolution
textures can be easily incorporated into a game, such as Unreal Tournament, with little
performance hit. The results are very pretty indeed, as we have illustrated below.
