Important Notes about MIRAGE AdJUST™ Program:
- MIRAGE AdJUST™
program in DOS/VGA: AdJUST™
program is a DOS based program, designed specifically for your
MIRAGE video card and lets you change the DOS and VGA parameters
for text and graphics modes. AdJUST™
is a TSR program which runs under DOS, WINDOWS 95 and WINDOWS
98. It can not be run under the Windows NT. However, whenever
used as a utility program along with a "Flash BIOS"
equipped MIRAGE video card such as Illusionist 3D, you may use
the AdJUST™
program to manipulate the screen parameters and save these parameters
permanently to video card's BIOS. This way you'll avoid using
the TSR feature of the AdJUST™.
- To Change
parameters for WINDOWS NT, first power up using a DOS disk bootable
disk and then RUN the MIRAGE AdJUST™
program.
How
to run the AdJUST™:
Change
to directory where you have installed the AdJUST™: e.g. C:\mirage\illusion\ADJUST
Before attempting
to use the AdJUST™
program, you'll need to load a utility file named: "monitor.exe"
available on the same directory as the "adjust.exe" -
This file must be run first and must be in the same directory where
adjust.exe is located -
After loading
the "monitor.exe", run the adjust.exe file by typing "adjust"
and pressing the "Enter" key at the DOS prompt.
After the AdJUST™
program loads, please read the on-screen information for detailed
instructions.
AdJUST™
under the Windows 9x/NT/ME/2000/Linux:
You can use
the MIRAGE AdJUST™
program
to save all changes which you want to the card's Flash BIOS. This
way all your changes will be in effect for Windows 95/98 and NT.
Linux text mode will be effected by the flash BIOS program, but
the graphics resolutions have to be changed inside the x windows
using the Linux config parameters.

Updating
the Illusionist 3D's Flash BIOS
|
|
WARNING:
Please do not change the card's default Frequency, if you currently
have a good picture on a fixed frequency monitor. Most fixed frequency
monitors can not handle changes in the horizontal scanning frequency
(kHz) and thus at the next boot, you may only see scrambles lines.
Also, feeding a frequency beyond beyond a monitor's intended powerup
frequency (kHz), may permanently damage the monitor's Horizontal
section. You may use the following instructions however to change
the card from the default settings and run it on a different fixed
frequency or MultiSync monitor, at the next boot up. The Illusionist
3D card usually arrives, preset to power-up to match your monitor's
frequency, assuming that we are aware of the monitor specs, before
shipping the product.
How
to setup your Illusionist 3D card:
If
you need to change this power up frequency, so that the board boots
in a different kHz at the next power up (For example, to be used
with a different monitor), please follow these instructions:
WARNING:
BEFORE
UPDATING YOUR FLASH BIOS TO A NEW SCANNING FREQUENCY, CONSULT
A MIRAGE TECHNICIAN FOR THE ACCURACY OF YOUR DATA FOR THE NEW
MONITOR'S FREQUENCY SETUP.

WARNING:
A
"kHz" value should not be mistaken for the "Hz" which represents
the monitor's refresh rate. For example, an 81 kHz ROM is intended
to be used with a very high frequency monitor and may damage the
monitors that can not handle such frequency.
More
"Monitor Specific ROM"s may be later become available
at this File Download area.
To
change the BIOS automatically:
Note: You
need to perform the following procedure from a computer system which
is running on a DOS bootable disk from the systems copy the UNZIP files to
the bootable diskette. You shoulld have a total of five (5) files. Namely; Autoexec.bat, Beep.com, Flash.exe,
J-xx.rom, & Readme1st.txt. Pls. make sure to read the instructions in the readme file.
